Labeling Digest

Dear %%First Name%%,

Forty years ago this May, two California wines won the Paris Tasting—or Judgment of Paris—in a blind taste test with French wines. That rocked the wine world. And 23 years ago this month, Labeltronix opened its doors—rocking the wine-labeling scene!

This month, we mark more stellar moments for Labeltronix:

Give me a call to see how we can help you revolutionize your labels' impact.

It's like déjà vu! Labeltronix has won two "Best of Category" awards from the Printing Industries Association of Southern California, after taking home five awards for excellence a month before.

This time the winners are the Kirkland Eggnog Label for "Labels/Wraps" and the Steel Wines Writer's Block label for "Flexographic Printing." Each had to be flawless to receive the honor.

These two labels also were recognized in the 55th Annual Excellence in Flexography Awards, which is an international competition. Labeltronix won two golds, two silvers and a bronze in the FTA awards.

When Melanie Brain wanted a new label printer, she turned to Labeltronix to attract some special attention for Baker & Brain's labels. Smart move! The winery joined forces with the Labeltronix team to produce eye-catching labels that are embossed and feature tactile spot varnish. By adding a special coating to the white wine labels, these labels are waterproof, and remain in perfect condition—even when submerged in ice-cold water. Melanie Brain describes her Labeltronix experience in this month's blog post.

Q: I've heard that hot-stamping makes a label look classy, but I don't know much about it. How does that work, and are my only choices gold or silver?

A: The process involves heating a colored foil and melting it onto the label to give a shiny attention-getting effect. At Labeltronix, we use our new press—the Digicon Series 3 with the "Big Foot" Flat Bed hot foil stamping and embossing module—to take foil stamping to a new level. The Big Foot gives our customers a wider array of foil colors to choose from, and deeper embossing and debossing options for their labels. Research shows that these special touches increase the likelihood that your wine will be selected on the shelf. Learn more, and contact us for samples.
